About this website
Hills District Kitchens is a referral website. We do not design, manufacture, install or build kitchens, and we do not do plumbing, gas, electrical or benchtop work. Enquiries are passed to the licensed builder we partner with.
Who builds the kitchens
Kitchen renovation work arranged through this website is carried out in partnership with Coastal Renovation Group, a licensed NSW builder. Licence and insurance details are provided on request.
Before you sign, ask for the licence number and search it on the NSW public register yourself. The register lists the holder, licence class, current status, expiry date and any disciplinary action.
The builder prepares the quote, enters the contract with you, performs and is responsible for the work, and provides any workmanship warranty. Where home building compensation cover is required, the builder arranges it.
No other representations
We make no statement about the licences, qualifications or insurance of any other contractor, and we do not track insurance over time. Request a current certificate of currency before work starts.
Engineered stone
Engineered stone benchtops, panels and slabs have been banned in Australia since 1 July 2024. We do not offer them. Removal of existing engineered stone must follow the applicable safety requirements.
Asbestos
Asbestos removal is outside our service. In NSW it is licensed work that must be done by a licensed asbestos removalist, which is a different authorisation from a builder's licence.
Some older Hills homes, particularly in Baulkham Hills and parts of Castle Hill, were built before about 1990. If a kitchen in an older home is being demolished without testing for asbestos first, stop and seek advice.
Approvals
The builder can tell you what approvals a kitchen project typically needs, but the decision rests with The Hills Shire, Blacktown City, the City of Parramatta or your owners corporation, as applicable. Nobody on this website can promise an approval or a timeframe.
General information
All cost bands, timeframes and summaries of regulations on this website are general information at the time of writing, not advice specific to your home.
